Payroll & statutory
15 toolsPF, ESI, professional tax, gratuity, bonus and full-and-final — the deductions an Indian payroll run has to get right.
- CalculatorEmployee Cost CalculatorWork out what an employee really costs a year — CTC plus employer PF, ESI, gratuity provision, insurance, equipment, workspace, software and amortised recruitment. The total typically runs 20–35% above the offer letter.
- CalculatorEmployee Loan EMI CalculatorWork out the monthly instalment on a staff loan or salary advance, and check it against the statutory cap — total deductions from wages cannot exceed 50% in any wage period, however much the employee agrees to.
- CalculatorEmployee Reimbursement CalculatorCheck what part of an expense claim is reimbursed tax-free and what lands as salary. Without bills, a reimbursement is not a reimbursement — the whole amount is taxable pay.
- CalculatorEPF Late Payment Penalty CalculatorEstimate what a late provident fund remittance costs: interest under section 7Q at 12% a year plus damages under section 14B, graded from 0.25% to 1% a month by how long the delay ran. Both apply; neither replaces the other.
- CalculatorESI CalculatorCalculate employee and employer ESI contributions at 0.75% and 3.25% of gross wages. The ₹21,000 ceiling decides whether you are covered — it does not cap the contribution, which is due on total wages with no upper limit.
- CalculatorESIC Eligibility CheckerCheck whether an employee is covered by ESI for a given contribution period, and what happens when their wages rise mid-period. Coverage is tested once at the start of the period and then frozen until it ends.
- CalculatorFull and Final Settlement CalculatorBuild a full and final settlement: salary for days worked, leave encashment, gratuity and bonus against notice shortfall, loans and tax. Total deductions cannot exceed half of wages in any wage period.
- CalculatorGratuity CalculatorCalculate gratuity as 15/26 of last drawn monthly wages for every completed year of service, capped at ₹20 lakh. Part of a year over six months rounds up; six months or fewer is dropped.
- CalculatorInsurance Deduction CalculatorSplit a group health insurance premium between employer and employee, add GST at 18%, and see the monthly salary deduction. Dependant and top-up cover is normally the employee's own cost.
- CalculatorLeave Encashment CalculatorCalculate what unused leave is worth in cash and how much of it is tax-free. For a non-government employee leaving a job the exemption is the least of four figures, capped at ₹25 lakh across a whole career.
- CalculatorMinimum Wage Compliance CheckerCheck a salary structure against the minimum wage notified for your state, skill category and scheduled employment — and against the Code on Wages 50% rule, which pulls excess allowances back into wages.
- CalculatorPerformance Bonus CalculatorWork out a variable pay payout from target percentage, company multiplier, individual rating and months served. Shows what the payout would have been at target, so the gap is visible rather than implied.
- CalculatorPF CalculatorWork out your monthly EPF contribution and what actually lands in your PF account. Employee EPF is 12% of basic + DA; the employer's matching 12% splits 8.33% to the pension scheme and the rest to EPF, so less reaches your balance than it looks.
- CalculatorProfessional Tax CalculatorWork out state professional tax on a monthly salary. Twenty-one states levy it, fifteen do not, every one legislates its own slabs, and the Constitution caps the total at ₹2,500 a person a year.
- CalculatorStatutory Bonus CalculatorWork out statutory bonus under the Code on Wages — between 8.33% and 20% of wages, for employees under the eligibility threshold, calculated on the lower of actual wages and the calculation ceiling.
Salary & income tax
10 toolsIn-hand pay, CTC structure, HRA exemption, TDS and the old-versus-new regime question.
- CalculatorEmployee Benefits Value CalculatorTotal up what a package is really worth — CTC plus insurance, paid time off, perks, learning budget, target variable pay and equity vesting this year. Useful for a total-rewards statement or for comparing two offers.
- CalculatorHRA Exemption CalculatorWork out how much house rent allowance is exempt from tax: the least of actual HRA, 50% of salary in the four metros or 40% elsewhere, and rent paid minus 10% of salary. Old regime only.
- CalculatorIn-Hand Salary CalculatorTurn an annual CTC into a monthly take-home figure — basic, HRA and special allowance on one side, provident fund, professional tax, ESI and income tax on the other, with the gap between CTC and gross shown explicitly.
- CalculatorIncome Tax Calculator FY 2026-27Calculate income tax for FY 2026-27 under either regime, slab by slab, including the section 156 rebate, surcharge and 4% cess. The new regime's rebate threshold is ₹12,00,000 — not the ₹7 lakh two official pages still show.
- CalculatorITR Calculator FY 2026-27 — Refund or Tax PayableWork out whether your FY 2026-27 income tax return ends in a refund or a balance to pay: tax for the year under either regime, less the TDS your employer deducted month by month, with every deduction shown against its cap.
- CalculatorLTA Exemption CalculatorCheck how much leave travel allowance is exempt: the lower of the LTA in your salary and the actual fare for eligible domestic travel, for two journeys in each block of four calendar years. Old regime only.
- CalculatorOld vs New Tax Regime CalculatorCompare tax under both regimes on the same salary, and see how much more deduction the old regime would need to catch up. For most salaried people without a home loan, the new regime wins.
- CalculatorSalary Hike CalculatorWork out a revised salary from a hike percentage, or the percentage from a revised figure — and see the real increase once inflation is taken off it.
- CalculatorTax Saving CalculatorSee how much more tax you could save by using the old regime's remaining deduction headroom — and whether it is worth it, by comparing the best possible old-regime outcome against the new regime.
- CalculatorTDS on Salary CalculatorWork out monthly TDS on salary using the average-rate method — the whole year's estimated tax, less what has already been deducted, spread across the remaining months. Not monthly slabs on a monthly salary.
Time & attendance
12 toolsWork hours, timesheets, overtime, shift patterns, notice periods and statutory leave.
- GeneratorHoliday Calendar GeneratorProduce a printable annual holiday calendar with fixed and optional holidays, the weekly-off pattern and the rules employees actually ask about — which holidays are optional, and what happens when one falls on a weekend.
- CalculatorMaternity Leave CalculatorWork out maternity leave dates and benefit: 26 weeks for the first two children, 12 for a third, 12 for adoption or a commissioning mother, six for a miscarriage — with 80 days of prior service required.
- CalculatorMilitary Time ConverterConvert between 24-hour and 12-hour time. Midnight is 00:00 and noon is 12:00 — 12:00 AM is midnight while 12:00 PM is noon, which is the pair people reverse most often.
- CalculatorNotice Period CalculatorWork out the last working day from a resignation date and notice period, and what a shortfall costs. Most Indian contracts recover notice on gross salary, not basic, which makes the number much larger.
- CalculatorOvertime Cost CalculatorWork out the overtime rate from monthly wages and see what sustained overtime costs across a team — including how many full-time equivalents of work it represents.
- CalculatorPaternity Leave CalculatorIndia has no statutory paternity leave for private-sector employees — central government staff get 15 days under the CCS rules. This works out the dates against whatever your employer's policy grants.
- ChecklistPayroll Calendar GeneratorBuild a year's payroll calendar around your own cut-off and pay dates, with the statutory deadlines — 7th for TDS, 15th for EPF and ESI, quarterly returns, annual forms — that do not move whatever your cycle is.
- GeneratorShift Rotation GeneratorBuild a forward-rotating shift plan for any number of teams and shifts — each team moves one shift on every cycle, with the rest rules that make a rotation legal and liveable printed alongside it.
- GeneratorStaff Schedule GeneratorProduce a printable weekly staff schedule from a list of names — one row per person, seven dated columns, with the notice and rest rules printed underneath.
- CalculatorTime Card CalculatorAdd up a week of clock-in and clock-out times, deduct breaks, split the total into regular and overtime hours against a standard week, and convert it to pay.
- GeneratorTimesheet TemplateA printable weekly, fortnightly or monthly timesheet with dated rows, in and out columns, break and hours — plus an optional project column and the signature lines an approved timesheet needs.
- CalculatorWork Hours CalculatorWork out hours between a clock-in and a clock-out, less breaks, in both hours-and-minutes and the decimal form payroll needs. An out time earlier than the in time is read as an overnight shift.
Workforce analytics
10 toolsAttrition, absenteeism, cost per hire and the other numbers an HR review actually turns on.
- CalculatorAbsence Cost CalculatorPut a figure on absence: salary paid for days not worked, plus the premium cost of covering them with overtime or agency staff — and what one day off the average is worth.
- CalculatorAbsenteeism Rate CalculatorWork out absenteeism as days lost over available days, with approved leave excluded by default — counting it makes a generous leave policy look like a discipline problem.
- CalculatorAttrition Rate CalculatorCalculate attrition as exits divided by average headcount, annualised, split into voluntary, involuntary and regretted. Average headcount is the denominator — using opening headcount overstates a growing team's attrition.
- CalculatorCampus Hiring PlannerBuild a campus funnel backwards from joiners rather than forwards from offers, so the renege gap between offer and joining date is in the plan from the start rather than discovered in June.
- CalculatorCost of a Bad Hire CalculatorAdd up what a hire that did not work out cost — salary paid, hiring twice, management time, rework, exit, and the drag on colleagues — against what one more interview round would have cost.
- CalculatorCost Per Hire CalculatorTotal external and internal recruiting cost divided by hires actually made — including interviewer time, which is the line most often left out and frequently the largest on a competitive role.
- CalculatorEmployee Turnover Cost CalculatorCost out turnover per exit — recruitment, exit handling, the vacancy gap and ramp-up — and see what one percentage point of attrition is worth, which is the budget a retention programme has to beat.
- CalculatorManpower Requirement CalculatorSize a team from workload and output per person, after taking out leave, absence, shrinkage and the utilisation you can realistically plan to. Planning to 100% utilisation guarantees a backlog.
- CalculatorRevenue Per Employee CalculatorRevenue divided by headcount, with profit per employee and payroll as a share of revenue alongside — and, given last year's figures, whether growth came from leverage or from hiring.
- CalculatorWorkforce Planning CalculatorWork out gross hires from a growth target and an attrition rate — the growth hires plus the replacement hires — then the offers to extend and when recruiting has to start.
Planning & ROI
7 toolsHeadcount plans, payroll budgets and the business case for changing how HR runs.
- CalculatorContractor vs Employee Cost CalculatorCompare the full cost of an employee — CTC plus employer PF, ESI, gratuity and benefits — against a contractor's fees and GST, and read the misclassification risk that the arithmetic does not settle.
- CalculatorHR Automation Savings CalculatorCost a single manual process, then work out what automating part of it saves — time returned and errors avoided, against build and running cost, with payback in months.
- CalculatorHR Software ROI CalculatorBuild the business case for an HR system: time returned to the HR team and to managers, errors avoided and tools replaced, against licence and implementation cost — with payback in months.
- CalculatorHybrid Work ROI CalculatorModel the cost of a hybrid policy: seats released and facilities saved against home allowances, equipment and the travel budget distributed teams need — plus the commuting hours employees get back.
- CalculatorPayroll Budget PlannerBuild a year's payroll budget from headcount, increments, hires and attrition — with the part-year effect handled, and next year's exit run rate shown alongside this year's cost.
- CalculatorPayroll Error Cost CalculatorWork out what payroll errors cost a year — correction time, employee and manager time, off-cycle payment runs, statutory exposure and the attrition that follows getting someone's pay wrong.
- CalculatorPayroll Outsourcing Cost CalculatorCompare outsourced payroll at a per-employee-per-month fee against running it in-house — staff, software and compliance — including the internal effort outsourcing does not remove.
Employee finance
7 toolsPPF, NPS, EMI, retirement and the personal-finance questions employees bring to HR.
- CalculatorEMI CalculatorWork out a loan instalment, total interest, and what a monthly prepayment saves — including how much of the balance is still outstanding after one, three and five years.
- CalculatorFreelance Rate CalculatorWork a day rate backwards from the income you want to take home — after tax, business costs, unbillable time and a buffer for late payers and gaps between engagements.
- CalculatorGST CalculatorAdd GST to an amount or extract it from a GST-inclusive one, with the CGST and SGST split for an intra-state supply or IGST for an inter-state one.
- CalculatorNPS CalculatorProject a National Pension System corpus to retirement, and split it into the tax-free lump sum and the annuity — at least 40% of the corpus must buy an annuity, and the pension it pays is taxable.
- CalculatorPPF CalculatorProject a Public Provident Fund balance over any term. PPF is exempt-exempt-exempt — the contribution is deductible, the interest is untaxed and the maturity amount is tax-free — with a ₹1.5 lakh annual limit.
- CalculatorRetirement Planning CalculatorWork out the corpus you need at retirement after inflation, what you are on track for, and the monthly investment that closes the gap — plus what waiting five years to start would cost.
- CalculatorSalary vs Cost of Living CalculatorCompare a salary across two cities using your own costs rather than a published index — the salary you would need to keep the same amount left over each month, and what an offer actually changes.

Forms & checklists
18 toolsOnboarding, exit, appraisal, compliance and the request forms that run on paper in most companies.
- ChecklistCandidate Shortlisting ChecklistA hiring checklist that starts before the first CV is opened — criteria agreed and written down in advance, because deciding what matters after seeing the candidates is how bias gets in.
- GeneratorCompensatory Off Request FormA comp-off form recording the extra work that earned it and when it will be taken, with an expiry so unused compensatory time does not accumulate into an unrecorded liability.
- GeneratorEmployee Feedback FormA feedback form in five variants — general, manager, peer, exit and onboarding — each with prompts written to produce specific answers rather than polite ones.
- ChecklistEmployee Onboarding ChecklistA new-hire checklist from offer to confirmation, including the Indian statutory steps with real deadlines — ESIC portal entry before day one, UAN linkage, and Form 122 from a mid-year joiner.
- GeneratorEmployee Satisfaction SurveyA printable engagement survey covering work, manager, team and company, with open questions and an optional recommendation score — and a note on why running it without acting is worse than not running it.
- GeneratorEmployee Travel Request FormA travel request and approval form with an itemised cost estimate, an optional advance, an international section for passport and visa, and the declarations that make approval meaningful.
- ChecklistFull and Final Settlement ChecklistAn exit checklist covering dues, recoveries, assets, access and the statutory steps — including the gratuity 30-day deadline and the 50% cap on deductions that a large recovery has to respect.
- GeneratorHR Policy Acknowledgement FormA policy acknowledgement form with version tracking per policy — the record that makes a policy enforceable in a disciplinary process, and the specific POSH confirmation the Act expects.

- GeneratorShift Swap Request FormA two-party shift swap form with a qualification and rest-hours confirmation from the employee taking the shift, and manager approval — because an unapproved swap leaves the original person rostered.

- GeneratorWork From Home Request FormA work-from-home request form with availability, workspace and information security confirmations — and a prompt about the state-level tax consequences of working from a different state for long.
Common questions
- Are these HR tools really free?
- Yes. All 104 tools are free to use with no sign-up, no email address and no limit on how many times you use them.
- Does my data get sent anywhere?
- No. Every calculation and every document is produced in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted to a server, stored or logged — which is why these tools work for salary figures and employee details.
- Are the statutory rates up to date?
- Every tool shows the date its figures were last reviewed, currently 2026-09-22. Indian statutory rates are date-effective and change by notification, so confirm against the current notification before running a live payroll or filing.
- Can I use the letters and policies for my company?
- Yes. They are a starting point rather than legal advice — employment documents have consequences, so have anything that ends an employment, imposes a restriction or creates a liability reviewed before you issue it.
